Michael Ealy is finally stepping into a role fans have long been asking for: Malcolm X. According to Deadline, the Think Like A Man actor has officially joined the cast of The Greatest, Prime Video’s limited series chronicling the life of boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

Ealy will portray the influential civil rights icon and former Nation of Islam leader in a recurring role.
Executive produced by Michael B. Jordan and showrun by Ben Watkins (Hand of God, Burn Notice), The Greatest will not only delve into Ali’s legendary boxing career but also explore the personal life of the man behind the gloves — a devoted husband, father, brother, and son.
The series stars Jaalen Best as Ali, portraying the defining chapters of the boxer’s life, both under the bright lights and in his quietest, most human moments.
Ealy’s casting as Malcolm X has long been discussed among fans. He has performed live readings of Malcolm X’s words in previous documentaries, including The People Speak, but this is his first time embodying the civil rights leader in a dramatic series.
Joining Ealy in the cast is Kai Parham (Colin in Black and White) as Rudy Clay, Muhammad Ali’s younger brother, in a series regular role. Also confirmed are Omari Hardwick and Dana Gourrier as Ali’s parents, Cassius Sr. and Odessa Clay, along with Snowfall star Amin Joseph as heavyweight rival Sonny Liston.
